Rough-in plumbing for new builds and additions
Rough-in is where a plumbing system is won or lost. We lay out supply and drain-waste-vent for new builds, additions, basement finishes and full kitchen and bath remodels, coordinate with your GC and inspector, and leave the walls ready for finish.
Rough-in is everything that happens before the walls close: the drains, the vents, the water lines and the stub-outs every fixture will connect to. It's where a plumbing system is won or lost. Drains need the right slope, every fixture needs a proper vent, and it all has to pass inspection before the drywall crew shows up.
We do rough-in for new homes, additions, basement finishes and gut remodels. We lay out the supply and the drain-waste-vent system, coordinate with your general contractor's schedule, pressure test, and meet the inspector.
Illinois has its own plumbing code and most villages add amendments on top. Forty years of working in these towns means we know what each inspector wants to see.

Rough-In Plumbing: common questions
Do you work with general contractors?
Yes, a good share of our rough-in work is for GCs and builders. We're bonded and insured in the State of Illinois and can provide a certificate of insurance for your file.
Can you add a bathroom in a basement?
Yes. It usually means breaking out part of the floor for the drains and installing an ejector pit and pump, because basement fixtures sit below the sewer line.
What does rough-in include?
All water supply and drain-waste-vent piping inside the walls and floors, stubbed out and tested, ready for inspection. Setting the fixtures themselves comes later, at finish.
